USMC in Smolyan

A new automated medical examination system for bus and truck drivers, developed by a team led by Dr. Ivan Paunov, has been introduced in Smolyan. This system, part of a comprehensive medical monitoring system for drivers, is currently located at the “Orpheus Forests” community center.

Named the Universal System for Medical Control (USMC), it is designed to conduct automated health checks for drivers of heavy and specialized vehicles, buses, trains, and more before each journey. Dr. Ivan Paunov notes that this system uniquely integrates various sensors for the first time.

The automated check takes between 90 and 200 seconds and includes tests for alcohol, psychoactive substances, blood pressure, body temperature, and physical fatigue. After the assessment, a doctor remotely evaluates the driver’s health and determines their fitness for work.

This system aims to eliminate human error, provide quick screenings, and reduce the risk of accidents due to poor driver health. For more detailed information, visit the official source at otzvuk.bg
